Mess Hall

The mess hall didn't exactly look ready to serve breakfast, but she didn't immediately see anyone injured yet either. That was at least better than she expected. She was about to start searching when a sudden hand on her shoulder caused her to jump. She turned around and sighed in relief when she saw a familiar fluff of red hair.

"A-ah, sorry about that. It's good to see someone else doing okay in this situation. are doing okay, right? Feeling nauseated, dizzy, anemic, anything like that, Mi, uh, Micalio, right? Sorry, I haven't really gotten the chance to talk to you much yet. I don't suppose this is much of a time to start though. If you're okay, could you see if this room is too dangerous to stay in? I heard a distress report from here so I wanted to look into it, but they might have already been carried out to the med bay by- Barb, what happened!?"

Aiu interrupted herself at the bloodied, wheezing sight of her fellow medic. She quickly looked over his face for the source of the blood, brushing his hair aside in the process. She couldn't find anything, so she followed the blood to his hands and--

"That's not your blood," Aiu sighed in relief and smiled after the medical glove on his hand help connect the dots. Though now free of her urge to help, her mind realized what she just did. She quickly spun away in embarrassment, her tail lightly smacking against him accidently.

"W-we should search the room, let's go."

Medical Bay

More and more crew were filing into the bay, some with minor injuries that weren't there to be treated but rather just there to help out - while others had serious injuries, ranging from broken to missing limbs and having left a bloody trail behind them. The bay rocked violently every few minutes as explosions could be heard in the distance, but suddenly, an explosion could be heard that was much closer than what some felt was safe.

"What was that...?" one of the crewmen was heard saying as bottles and unsecured items crashed onto the deck. This was followed by the found of bulkheads snapping and steel girders warping. Everyone could hear *something* in the distance. It would've caused everyone in the bay to stop and listen, briefly, since the sound seemed to travel, and sometimes it would sound as if it was below them or sometimes above them.

This was followed by a sudden explosion in the medical bay.

The Furi'ken continued its slow tumble through space, fires had stopped popping up, but explosions still occured along the outer hall. The ships hanger bay was exposed to space, but strangely enough the fighters and shuttles within weren't sucked out and instead just tumbled in the open-air hanger.

Crew quarters that had also been exposed to space likewise had their belongings just tumbling as if there was oxygen in the air. The ships observation deck was also breached and, like other area's of the ship, likewise had no explosive decompression.

On the bridge, the door finally opened; Chi'ka stumbled into the ravaged area with a cut on her forehead and her uniform torn apart. "Well... shit.." she muttered after seeing the carnage. The shipmistress rubbed the back of her head, and started to prowl about to see what was still working, before she heard something in the ships CiC and looked in to find Ay'indri tending to a patient.

She was about to speak when suddenly, over the loudspeakers: "Alert! Emergency Fold Out Initialized! Repeat: Emergency Fold Out Initalized!"

Mess Hall

The mess hall was a mess, tables over turned, glassware shattered upon the floor, bodies everywhere. There were groans coming from some of the bodies. Purple and blue lights danced across the far back wall, this wall seemed strange though compared to the rest of the mess hall; to Aiu, Micalio and Barbanov, this seemed out of place.

Barbanov had been busy helping a small group clear some rubble and then dealing with the injuries that came with it all - improvising a gutted pen as a breathing tube to help ensure one of his fellow fox's collapsed lungs didn't fill his chest cavity with blood and helping staunch the flow of blood from another patient's all but shredded leg among other things, by the time his golden-brown head poked through the door again it was stained with a smear of blood from the back of his own palm, the rest of Barbanov's lean little frame scurrying through the partially opened blast-doors with a bundle of partially used medical supplies in tow.

Healer... DePolanskaya~" he wheezed, drawing more oxygen into the Daur's burning lungs before he stood upright, "... ready for duty~"

Micalio stood up after patching the pressure locks and looked around at the now doomed ship. "Well I tried." She said aloud to no one in particular as she ditched the helmet which had filled with alerts and red icons and ran for the medical bay. While she wasn't a medic herself she knew thats where many others would likely be, other than the bridge but it was unlikely they'd be able to save the ship at this rate, those explosions didn't sound good.

On her way there the red haired Daur saw that softie medic run into the mess hall and decided to take a detour, bursting through behind Aiu she looked around at the carnage. "Hey! There's nothing my lot can do anymore, just give me a job and I'll do it!" She said grabbing the smaller medic by the shoulder so she knew she was being spoken to.

Ay'indri sucked at her teeth as she read the readout. What ever had wreaked havoc on the ship had certainly done its job. The agent muttered to herself as she kept the line open with the healer, "Internal biological sensors are down, you're on your own in finding the injured crew. I will keep the line open in case others are able to call for aid." Routing the channel was relatively easy if not a little annoying given the ship's status as being damaged.

With that done, the small fox picked up the medkit again and sprinted back to her patient. Kneeling beside them, Ay'indri opened the kit to get a better look of what she had to work with.

Aiu's heart beat quickly as she waited impatiently in front of the mess hall. Every explosion felt like a life lost as she stood useless in the hallway. She bounced on the balls of her feet, wondering if she should just run somewhere else. A sudden explosion next to her cut that thought off. She jumped in surprise at the sudden light show, but her attention quickly turned to the now opened door. Eerie purple lights drifted out of the small opening. Now with a path forward, Aiu didn't hesitate or check her surroundings. She pushed her medical bag in front of her, then squeezed into the mess hall.

"Healer here! Who needs medical attention?"

Explosions chained across the lateral part of the ship, opening it up to the void in which they were presently inhabiting. The result of the explosions rocked the ship, but also caused a massive energy cascade that sent arcs of electricity dancing in some of the hallways and shorting out equipment. The ship rolled onto it's 'side', causing a shift inside of the ship as artificial gravity gave out in several areas.

In the hanger, several fighters and shuttles whose mooring had reached their stress limits snapped and came crashing down to the side of the bay. In the munitions storage room, multiple ballistic warheads that were inside of their own protective cases clattered to the ground slide, while their main delivery shells lost their moorings and came crashing through the walls due to their immense weight.

The display flickered in and out, due to the power failures that were occuring throughout the ship, but what information could be displayed showed the following:

Internal power flickers on and off for several minutes, Aiu would hear the unmistakable sound of circuits overloading - at one point a box off to her left exploded, sending showers of sparks all around her; then suddenly the blast door opened up - enough to allow her to crawl through. Purplish light bathed the hallway, flickering in and out.

Diary of Josh Destine

2 days after arrival of Iron Palace

Its been a horrible two days, first the GFC arrived with their Iron Palace and now war has broken out. The rig captain said we should have these guys beat before next week though so we’re all pretty fired up. We can hold them back with our strategic locations and knowledge of the land, and the entire enemy force is just mercs so they’ll get bored soon. I’m looking forward to winning this so I get get back off this scorched hell and see Tiana again, I still need to buy a ring for her and hopefully we’ll get a nice bonus for fighting off these losers.

1 month since arrival

All the men are losing morale, it’s now been a month since they arrived and they’ve dug in deep. Our rig captain was killed yesterday so now authority has fallen to me, but we’re not soldiers we just mine this dump. Our ammo is holding up since we managed to scavenge weapons and equipment from a deserted battlefield but those mercs just keep getting supply ships sent down. The other boys and I are trying to get an old aircraft gun working that’s been here for years to try and shoot the next one down. If we could get hold of some of their combat armour and explosives we could push them back I know it. For now we’re holed up at one of the dig camps with mining explosives setup like traps, but their patrols are clever. Several traps have been disarmed and stolen and others were set off to lure us out. Everyone knows this war won’t be over anytime soon, despite all our plans and operations they still remain in stalemate through sheer numbers to our home land advantage.

1 year since hell began

I’ve given up hope of getting out of here alive, all the men I started this with, real good men well they’re all dead. I haven’t had communication offworld in months now and they have captured Diamond Ridge, there’s no hope left for us. I’ve been thinking maybe I can join them, it might not be too late for me. I’m planning to wave my flag tomorrow, Tiana if you’re reading this then I’m probably dead or captured and may never see you again. I’m sorry I never came back to get you that ring and I hope you can live safely even if I don’t.

Ay'indri got to her feet and looked about. Consoles that had suddenly poofed into spilling their innards, flames licking at circuitry and wiring stung her dainty little nose. People were either trying to figure out just what was going on, a few were down, some groaned yet others lay still. Taking stock of what was going on had been blessedly brief.

Stepping around debris, limbs, and bodies, the small agent arrived at her destination. It was a wall panel with wording imprinted upon it. Contents, plus the usual spiel of possible punishment if used outside of an emergency. Her fingers ran along the recess on its left side before digging into it and pulling. The thing came open with a small wobbly pop. Inside were some firefighting equipment, mainly two small extinguishers, masks and thank her lucky stars a medical kit. Grabbing the kit, she whistled at the others; pointing to the other goodies inside.

Afterward, Ay'indri had begun to make her way back to the injured crewman, when a voice came over the nearby console. With a grimace, she tapped at the screen until the channel opened. Aiu's voice warbled over the built-in audio. Leaning forward, Ay'indri spoke: "We have our hands full up here at the moment, give me a minute." just to let the woman know they were also in their own little situation.

The kit clattered to the deck, the agent wiped at her brow as she worked the console as fast as she dared. With damage seemingly all over the ship, it was likely a death trap waiting to happen. She brought up the deck's bulkhead systems, looking for the access control for the mess-hall. Only to find a 'Danger' warning accompanying it. So she queried the system as to why that was before she'd decide upon opening it.
